Convert DVD To AVI with Videosuite - Use Movavi Trial Coupon

Many programs are available that can allow you to backup your DVD movies to your computer. The most common form of backup file is the .AVI file, which can hold an entire movie by itself with low file size but high quality. AVI files typically use DivX or Xvid codecs to create the movies.

They are the most common file that movies are stored in on computers. So common, in fact, that many DVD players can actually play them now, so you can backup DVDs to your computer, then burn them again to a DVD-Recordable disk and play them on your TV (if you have the right software).

A great software program that can do all this is the Movavi videosuite. It can burn, edit, and copy videos, amongst many other things. It is used by people personally to backup their own DVD collections and also by professionals who edit and publish their own video.

Several simple steps is all it takes to convert your DVD to an Avi file on your computer:

1. Open up Movavi Videosuite and click DVD. Click Add DVD in order to backup everything on the DVD. Browse the disk and select the IFO and VOB files which contain the movie.

2. Select the correct audio track for the movie.

3. Choose the output format for the movie. You will probably want that to be AVI in DivX or Xvid format.

4. Select the place on your hard drive to save the movie after conversion.

5. Click ‘convert’ to start reading from the DVD and saving to your computer.

You can use this method to store many DVDs on one disk if you like. DVDs are converted down to as little as 1/4 or 1/5 their original size but still maintain good quality, so you can reburn 4 or 5 movies to a single DVD-R disc and store more movies on less disks.

Of course, only backup movies that you own the legal right to. Pay for your movies if you want to watch them.
